I would like to see what the interest is in having an on going TPMG series of workshops on photography starting in January.

A workshop would normally consist of a short lesson followed by a practise session.

For instructors we would draw from the TPMG and other photographic talent pools. I have already had some interest indicated.

To accommodate people's different lifestyles the idea would be to rotate the topics and instructors to different days of the week. If a topic was not well attended then the frequency of workshops covering that topic would be reduced or the topic replaced with a new one.

Assuming we find free space there would be no charge for these workshops so at this time studio workshops are unlikely to happen other then through the normal adhoc events.

If you are interested in a specific topic please post it here, please also try to stay on topic.

I'm definitely interested in flash photography. Especially around the areas of off-camera flash/strobe.

I can provide a workshop on digital photography workflow, since the few I've had at my place seem to have gone over well.

Admission won't be free though... you must bring a tasty snack and/or a donation to TPMG.

I wouldn't mind one on an intro to large format photography :-)

Generally, though, I might be able to offer my gallery as a place to host a workshop or two in the evenings. I'll check with my partners.

Welcome Ken. When we get this rolling in January the instructors will have complete say on when they will have their workshops and what they teach (within their chosen topic).

Personally I think film is neglected in this digital age.

Me too... it's been aaaaaaaages since I touched anything larger than 35mm format, and with the gear being so cheap these days, it would be fun to get back into that.

I was looking over the archives and it looks like I missed some great sessions by Taob on digital workflow while I was in Australia. I would love to take a session like this to see what I'm missing.

I also wouldn't mind putting on a session on off-camera flash photography but I think there are others here that are more qualified:)

Why don't you think about putting together an introduction workshop on both on board and off board flash? Beginners usually can do with a good lesson in flash use.

I have confirmed that I can offer galleryDK for workshops in evenings. If you're interested in using the space, PM me and we'll work out what date would work best.

(I should note that we don't have chairs at galleryDK... so it might be better suited for more active events, where people are standing and shooting? .. or it is BYOchair)

Thanks very much for the offer of space. I'm sure we will have use for a chairless space for those practical sessions like flash.

My thoughts are to keep the group size small and each session only cover what can be easily covered within the time frame. That way it becomes a continuing learning environment rather then too much too fast. More popular modules could be repeated more often. Also this leaves room for some speciality topics like large format.
