I want to get a new program - either lightroom or capture one. There is also Capture One Express. I've been doing a lot of research and reading, but I'm curious, does anyone have experience with these? Recommendations?

I have both I would use Capture One if I had 40 megapixels or greater files or I was using tethered operation but since I don't normally I almost exclusively use Lightroom.

Same as Ryan, if you do a lot of studio work get Capture one, if general photography is your thing LR is a more suitable choice

Capture one is definitely aimed at the studio photographer who shoots in batches and does everything tethered, it is awesomely powerful and very sophisticated but simple enough to learn and use. as the others have said Lightroom is better suited to those looking for editing software for themselves rather than their business. The new lightroom 4 is very nice but also very powerful so you will need a computer to keep up with it. a lot of people have mentioned how slow it is but with my recent gen macbook pro i can make that thing fly when editing. very smooth and ULTRA simple to use program in my opinion. I use both on a regular business and i tend to only use capture one when tethering because lightroom's tethered option... well it sucks to say the least... :P

over all I would say go for lightroom 4. you really can't go wrong with it.
