He is definitely talented and knowledgeable, probably not a complete waste of time to attend.

I saw him in Buffalo last year with David Hobby (Strobist) - his presentation was well done indeed.

I was there as well, and agree both of them were great presenters.

$100 for a full day aint bad at all. I don't work that much with flash these days but I loved his books, I might check this out.

Keep in mind this event is on Dixon Road near the Airport and NOT the Toronto Convention Ctr downtown.

Great price for a full day. Love his online videos. Pretty crazy light set-ups at times.

Here Joe triggers all of the CLS flashes in the audience - 50,000 watt seconds of light!

Here is a sample of the gear Joe brings along with him. I doubt he qualifies for carry-on!

That's great. Lots of free parking, easy access of hwy 27 and TTC right to the door. This is the same place Anime North is every year if you are familiar with that event.

On the Singapore group I'm on they had local "flash bangs", except they were Olympus users.

Maybe we should do that at the upcoming 4/3 event.

Is anyone going to this event? I am thinking of going as it is reasonable and near me. By the way if you are an NAPP member you pay $79.

Peronally if the instructor has a DVD, I'd rather put my money towards that so I can watch it over and over again or in pieces, rather than trying to digest a day's worth of leaning in one sitting.

I hear you, but unfortunately I find that when I buy a DVD I put off viewing it. I only just recently finished the Art Wolfe Edge DVDs I received for Christmas in 2010! And after tracking down a copy of the Nikon DVD on their flash system I still haven't watched it all. That has been sitting on the shelf since early 2011! So seminars work well for me because I commit to show up and give it my full attention (no pausing to do something else).

I have bought my ticket for the seminar. Looking forward to it.
