Just checking if anyone here made it to the Gumball3000 on Yorkville last night. I went but shot mainly video as I've had my MK4 for two years and never played with video before. I went with the assumption that the sound is just as important as the image. I will check the files later but for all I know the video could all be blurry garbage lol.

Perhaps someone else had fun too?

Am I the only one? There were a ton of cameras there...

Anyway, here is a pic of my favorite car from the stills. Avendator and then some!

That Ferrari is one if my favorite cars. I got some video of it pulling in on the first corner — looks like you were on the second corner — and took a pic if it while parked later on. When I was taking the still shot, some guys passing by me made a comment about how they didn't like it because it was a plain Ferrari. While my immediate thought was I wonder what they drive that's so exciting. I then took the shot and dreamed of owning a simple Ferrari. Paddle shifting through the gears while hearing an engine whine that only comes from Ferrari.... sigh.

Gumball should hand out bibs for the druel. Oh, where you there when the Caddilac did the burnout? The corner you were shooting from was completely engulfed in tire smoke.

Disappointed I was out of town during this... Did a Bugatti Veyron show up?

Yup. I got video of the Veyron rolling up and giving it for a fraction of a second. Just enough to wake the turbos. Apparently only part of the Gumballers showed up on Yorkville. Rumors suggest there were 3 Veyrons all together.

One is enough for me.

Given our racing and stunting law, I'm rather surprised that they even bothered. One burn-out and your car is gone for a week.

Just posted my vid. Burnout in Toronto at 7:09 at http://youtu.be/BMYH9bDTKCw There are also a few instances of squawking tires, excessive speed and unlawfully loud exhausts on top of the one burnout.

I guess you can get away with it if your rich enough to participate in the Gumball.

Actually not. The last time that they were here, a car left on a flatbed.

Yep. He got pulled over twice for speeding. First time, he got a warning ;)

Since the roads were technically closed for the event, it's quite possible that the HTA did not apply at the particular location where you filmed and as such, they could get away with squawking tires, burnouts, etc. Of course, I'm merely speculating, don't really know.

Seems to me that one got done for dangerous operation, for doing burn-outs in a parking lot, the last time around too.

Closed roads would present an obstacle to HTA 172 charges, but not charges under the Criminal Code.

Haha. Pure gold. Bibo was my personal favourite but I don't think he had nearly as many run-ins with Rob as Turbo.
