Seriously? don't we have enough brick wall test photos in the universe. Pick something more interesting. :)

Schools. They usually have huge brick walls.

there are several industrial complexes around the city, I have explored few on railside road (Don mills area) or Milner road (Scarborough). The back of these warehouses is usually clean enough that you can get around 20 -30 feet of continuous brick wall

How about the Distillery Area? Those places have huge brick walls.

Richard Harris Water Treatment Plant has some fair sized walls of brick. I agree with lxdesign though, bricks are boring. ;)

Be careful with older brick walls... naturally degraded brick can frequently show up as chromatic aberration in photos

thanks everyone.

FYI, i was testing my new rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for image quality. some lenses of this brand have reported to be decentred or otherwise poor quality control, so i wanted to make sure i didn't get a lemon within the return period of this new lens. also i wanted to get a grasp of the distortion and corner frame performance

i ended up not needing that big a wall since the lens is so wide, i needed to be closer than i thought.

in fact if i didn't want any ground in my test shot, with my 5'6" tripod, i couldn't be farther than about 1 metre from the wall since the lens has about an 81 degree vertical field of view.

I'm still going to check out you guys suggestions though. thanks alot.

Please report back how you are finding the 'mustache' barrel distortion on that lens. That's one thing that always had me concerned about that lens, although I loved the idea of 14mm.

Actually, if you had wanted to test a lens, why not get a proper ISO 12233 test chart? (e.g. http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~westin ... chart.html)

Print it out on a BW laser printer, mount it where you have even lighting, mount your camera on a tripod, and fire away...
