Frivolous crap, that shouldn't have survived the initial hearing. I could never do what wedding shooters do, for a living.

either recreate the wedding or pay the damages... the guy's been unemployed since 2008. pretty obvious that he just wants the money. he knows that recreating the wedding would be impossible.

Make the judgment contingent upon the plaintiff:

1) Locating his ex-wife

2) Recreating the wedding

3) Providing verifiable charges for doing so, within 6 months, or the defendant recoups any and all out of pocket expenses arising from the suit

I think, given those conditions, the plaintiff would walk away.

Yup, actually studies that case in a fair bit of detail. While she may have sued everyone but the dog, the case wasn't frivolous. McDonald's had a practise of serving their coffee at a far higher temperature than was generally considered safe because, "Our customers like it that way.", and it was far from the first such suit they'd been hit with for it.

In short; it makes a good talking point, but it doesn't fit the description.

Funny. i was just looking at the original article and now it's gone. If this new article is any truth to the situation, Joseph Burger's ass is grass (the author of the original article). It's disgusting how much the media can distort a story. (Thinking back to the Boston story posted earlier this year of the old men photographing women on the streets.)

Whatever the nuts and bolts of the case are, it appears that the financials in the original story are accurate. The plaintiff is asking for in excess of $48,000, for the cost of the wedding. Whether it's to recreate it or to be reimbursed for it is immaterial; he isn't entitled to it. The wedding did, in fact, take place. What he's missing out on is 15 minutes of images, after hours of work by the photographers. He could certainly argue that they were the most important, the culmination of the entire day's activities, but he's ultimately only really entitled to (at most) recompense for the photographer's fees.

The second story is no less slanted than was the first.

In a few days this story will be long forgotten and Buddy and Pedro will take the spotlight in an epic debate about animal gay rights.

Finally found the statement of claims filed.

http://cache.abovethelaw.com/uploads/20 ... plaint.pdf

It appears that the client didn't pay the final installment of their bill as he was not happy with the results - the studio started collection action against him a few years later and he filed this claim back against the studio.

Don't know why this didn't get settled or sent to the small claims court in the first place.

Because one of the parties doesn't only want to be divorced, he wants a complete do-over on the wedding to the tune of $50K. I realize that some people want to forget a bad marriage, but this is ridiculous.
