I'm going to be buying a new 5D Mark II. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with extended warranty from Vistek or Henry's vs. DVShop's Mack Camera Warranty?

Skip the warranty. Depending on your credit card, you can get another year with the company. Most people break their cameras before it becomes defective.

Hmmm. I intend to use it for video a lot. And I've heard of some over heating issues. So I'd just feel safer getting an extended warranty.

I've used a combination of 5D2, 60D, 7D for full day wedding several times and personally never experienced over heating issues.

Out of the combination the 5D2's are used primarily and the 60D, 7D are only used occasionally depending on the type of shot we need.

Mind you most of the shots are short - a few seconds to a few minutes. We would record to the 4GB (12 minute) limit only a few times through-out the entire day, such as during long speeches.

I have heard whispers with some experiencing 7D over heating but I've also heard to the contrary.
