Putting out a feeler to see if there is interest in having tintype portraits made by these guys:

http://tintypestudio.tumblr.com/

I've been in correspondence with the guys and if we can get at least 20 people to commit to having their portraits done for $50.

Post your interest in this thread if you're seriously interested.

Date: TBA
Cost: $50 for a large format tintype portrait

They took my tintype portrait at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit at NPS in the summer. Great bunch of guys and an excellent end product. I definitely recommend the experience.

only if I can get a family portrait (me, wife, daughter) for the same price

I think the price is $50 for each portrait so if you want to add more than one person that should be fine.

We were told that they can only accommodate 2 people in a photograph.

Here is the photo they made of my wife and I. (mind the bad scan)

Looks a bit like a shot done by Disfarmer.

The reason given was that it is a function of the quality of the 1800's lens (small sweet spot/bad at the edges) and the strobes.
