Details:

What: Nuit Blanche 2011
When: Saturday, October 01, 2011
Time: 6:30PM until the end.
Where: Starting at Zone A, St. George Subway West entrance on St. George.
Bring: Camera, walking shoes, patience, money for foods/drinks and appropriate dress.

Other pertinent information: Nuit Blanche Official Site.
Link to 2010 event.

Yes, the installations leave much to be desired, yes the crowds and children partying are annoying, yet, one can have a very good time at Nuit Blanche once you accept such things. Last year it fizzled down to only three of us in the end but we had a great time all the way til almost dawn. Once I've gone over the installation descriptions I'll put up a bit of a game plan. Maybe. If someone has a must see and wants to join the group that isn't likely a problem.

Impossible? Maybe. Pointless though. The fun is the night itself.

Speaking of TTC there does tend to be a lot of walking at this one folks... Sure, grab the promotional TTC pass but there's still a lot of walking.

Happy to join, thanks for organizing.

I do however hope that there will be some art worth seeing, IMO the event is getting worse and worse every year.

Pic from five years ago where they had fog and light installations, this was fun.

The art of food. I did see a poutine truck last year that I regret passing...

We're not far away. If anyone has events they'd like to see AND participate in the walk post up. Otherwise I'm just gonna walk around based on whim from the start point - Zone A St. George Subway station, west entrance.

If anyone happens to be in our zone -- come by St. Anne's Church on Gladstone - we have a Nuit Blanche installation entitled "ASYLUM"... its going to be awesome.

As usual, work is going to get into the way of me attending Nuit Blanche. Except this year will be my day job, and not helping at home on the farm. I need to spend all day Sat and Sun auditing a building lighting system, and go to a dinner on Sat night to finally get my P.Eng. certificate.

Maybe next year...?

Rob Ford will have the night cut next year. Good luck with work hotwire!

Late night eats at Nuit Blanche courtesy of blogTO. And more from BlogTO about the event. If someone sees something they want to do in any of these make a note of it and we'll probably do it as nobody else has suggested anything but their own thing yet. Nothing wrong with that, just saying and so on. Best of luck to those doing exhibits, sincerely.

Currently the weather forecast for the night is nice and cool, thank a deity!, with showers potentially starting around midnight. So dress warm and we'll get our must sees sawed asap in case of rain.

Crazy number of people and everything being so far apart makes chasing exhibits really hard. Was surprised that there were still lineups at 3 AM.

It was nice meeting you guys and thanks for organizing this Chris. I only managed to get 4-5 usable shots that night...most are of the drummer.
