What: Beginner Event photography series - Session 1
When: Mon. Sept. 12, 2011
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Where: Gardiner Museum
Bring: Your own camera, and at least one fast lens, flash cannot be used
Cost: $10 cash donation to Soundstreams

I've been volunteer shooting for Soundstreams over the past year and they ask me to return to do it again this year. They hold a series of private musical events where they host musicians from all around the world and they would just like to have documented. They like the work that I do, and I asked them if I could introduce other photographers to the experience as they may not have done it before. So, they agreed!

The only thing they ask for in return is shots from the event. I just send them a picasa link and they are more than happy with it.

What I ask is that you make a cash donation of $10 to Soundstreams the night of the event. This will be a very small ad-hoc as its an intimate gathering.

There will be more events up coming and depending on the event, I may be able to accommodate more than a few participants. Dates to follow.

This is more of an opportunity to learn to shoot events, and how to get the shots you wants, the client wants, and being able to deliver. I invite anyone, but I encourage photogs that haven't done events before as I think this would be great exposure to a different side of things out there.

Sounds like a great event for a beginner to get their feet wet in performance photography! Love shooting musicians and dance I hope you will have an event or 2 for the more advanced?

I second this. This is the type of event that I'd attend. Cheap, no-pressure way to start learning event shooting.

At this event there isn't a stage since its in the gardener museum. Also, since they are all about music appreciation, it's a much different thing than a concert. It's closer to corporate event in a few ways

In that case, i think I'll un-register to allow someone else take the spot. I've shot several other non-on-stage events in the past (like the Ms. Universe Canada stuff), and shouldn't be taking up a spot because i've done this type of event shooting before.

did u read/follow instructions? maybe it is not working for switching registration status....
