Hi peeps... just wanted to ask has anybody in here been into these events?

any inputs on which location we should go since there are 3 venues.. a possible ad-hoc event maybe?

It's generally not hard to move between venues. The Doubletree is just across the street from the TCC and the Sheraton is also a short walk away.

You'll want to be there for the Masquerade for the most interesting costumes. Usually there's a little walk-by area outside the masquerade so you can shoot the performers after they come off stage.

Remember that a LOT of the cosplayers are underage.

Based on the schedule, looks like it's inside which means you have to pay an admission fee. If we have an ad-hoc, why don't we just pick a place like the Toronto Congress Centre and do photoshoots outside? I'm sure they'll be people hanging around outside. Anyway, I would definitely be in if you're setting up an ad-hoc I think a little strobist session would be fun

There is more then enough fun outside, don't worry about getting a ticket (although, there are many fun events inside as well, so consider buying tickets next year).
Besides, it will take you 4 hours waiting in line up to pick it up, if you did not pre-order it.

There will be a lot of pre-planned photoshoots for different topics.
All you need is just to show up for them and take pictures.
But it also mean, that there likely will be a ton of other photographers.
Overall, if you go with a friend or a few and help each other you will have many opportunities to pull people for the mini-photoshoots.

(I am, unfortunately, likely going alone and have large number of pre-planned photoshoots, so it will be challenging. Still, would not want to miss this event ).

Huh, interesting. Anyone up for a street shoot around these events?

If it's something like Bart's strangers shoot, I'll be up for it. My preference would be for Saturday(weather permitting) but Sunday is ok for me too.

@alvin and Ions... I wouldnt mind just being outside and wait for "interesting" anime enthusiast to pass by if an opportunity occurs.. how's about sunday?


@mawz... when you meant underage... does that mean we are not allowed to take pictures of them even though they would pose for us or something like that? any legal implications that this cause?

I even happen to know how are the three people out of four on them

impressive. the quality of the cosplayers has improved since my last visit to AN.

There were many very elaborate costumes this year, several times more then the last.
Real feast for the eyes.
