I'm thinking about how to improve the effect, like:

-using tripods at the same height
-have the subjects elevated and out of range of the other photogs
-timed shutter release

this looks like a fun thing to do !

i'm in. do we need to work at the same focal length?

edit: i have an idea to time the release. I know a lotta people here have the yongnuo 602's. 1 remote can actually trigger every camera :D

If you have different remotes you can also daisy chain them using the trigger on the receiver. So you can mix and match brands.

The actual matrix effect known as "bullet time" was created with camera's all triggered by a computer system. Camera's all set with same settings and focal lengths. And shot in a green screen studio. That being said.... This is definately fun, but for ease of putting together the final package, everyone shoots jpeg, same file size, and someone calls out when to pull the trigger.... Unless someone has a way to trigger 15-20 camera's remotely here.

Just a suggestion lets keep simple and fun with no elaborate triggering.
Gerardo's suggestions have a lot of merit.
Quote:
-using tripods at the same height
-have the subjects elevated and out of range of the other photogs

It would help if similar or equivalent focal lengths/crop factors were used (a zoom lens could be used if the focal length was locked down (a rubber band will do) and white balance was measured prior with a grey card.

Someone needs to volunteer to do the post (my computer just like me is too old and cranky).

Wile we are at we could try some sequences like this one of mine only with multiple cameras firing sequentially http://youtu.be/0vZHoZPX3Sk

If this works out I have idea for a interesting second event.
