From the High Park website:

We are happy to announce that the cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom! We checked on the state of the Sakura trees this morning and found that about 10% of the flowers are in bloom. With the warm weather expected on Thursday and Friday, we expect them to be in full bloom Friday into this weekend.

How long does it bloom for? We are thinking of doing a shoot end of June. I'm guessing it will be all gone by then?

Think a week depending on the weather.

The buds on our Schubert Cherry are just beginning to open up with the initial furry bit, here in Barrie, so I can take that as an indication of what might be happening in High Park. Barrie is always a least a week behind Toronto and two weeks behind the Niagara region.

The forecast doesn't look promising for sunrise this weekend, but I don't know if the blossoms will last until next weekend. I'm going to try to get to High Park after work tonight, but I will watch for an event as well. We could try to do sunrise on Friday (Good Friday; I'm busy the Saturday of next weekend), and if the blossoms are still there, go to High Park as well.

According to the High Park Nature Centre site, they're saying that they're not in bloom... Probably another week.

... which is probably for the best since this weekend does not look good.

Having done an advanced search on flickr for Cherry Blossoms Toronto, photos taken after April 1st, nothing is posted yet.

When someone gets definitive proof they are blooming, please post and I will schedule an event, likely next weekend (Easter Saturday or Easter Sunday... oh boy), unless they really are blooming in which case this weekend.

So am I scheduling an event for the Easter weekend, with the possibility of moving it one week later?

my wife and a couple of friends are excited to see the cherry blossoms, they haven't witnessed one yet so this year hopefully would be a good year for them to see it... the early morning ( 8-9AM) I think is the best to go, with all the mist and fog ... :)

If you are there after 8:30, good luck finding parking.

If anyone wants to go mid-week, let me know. I'm available pretty much anytime, except Tuesday.

i've got a couple of the trees outside my house in mississauga and they usually bloom around the same time as the ones in high park.. i've been using them as my indicator the past few years.

too bad i've got exams and probably won't make it out this year unless its a late bloom
