Check out the behind the scenes video on the Lexus LFA & super model photoshoot in the article below.

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/lexus ... 31307.html

My favorite lines:

"Do not fear darling, do no fear"

or

"...the car really sounds so strong, like ... full on...like strong ... power"

Pretty interesting to see behind the scenes which is in itself an ad for Lexus.

I'm no expert, but I've seen that video posted this week on just about every automotive forum and blog that I visit. Seems like it's pretty successful at reaching the audience.

IMHO. I think it needed to be in a lot of non-car blogs and forums to be successful. Car enthusiasts already knew what LFA is. Model and doing donuts is more for FT86 IMO.

Well from a sales perspective - its done fairly well - all 500 cars have been pre-sold even before production started.

From a brand marketing perspective - maybe not so well - Paris Hilton got one for her birthday. Not exactly the ideal image of a LFA owners you want associated with your car. I don't think they want this car branded as a chick car. :)

they should have picked a different "stunt" driver than Rhys Millen who's pretty well known as the guy who was drifting the yellow Hyundai Genesis Coupe on that commercial.

Toyota could have used drifters who're currently sponsored under Scion brand. oh well.

Love the car... but the video and the print ad were weak.

What's interesting is that elite luxury cars seldom make ads for their cars. Can you remember ever seeing an ad for a Zonda or Veyron? Running an ad for the LFA was never meant to increase LFA sales. The LFA was destined to sell out regardless (limited production run = collectors item). The Ad was to create buzz for a brand and build credibility to its lesser car models. Similar to what the Viper does for the Dodge product line.
