Details:

What: Spadina/Chinatown Walkabout
When: Friday February 4, 2011
Time: 2:30`ish
Where: Dragon City Shopping Mall SW corner of Spadina & Dundas
Bring: WARM CLOTHING! Your camera of course, maybe some fast lenses b/c of all the shivering!

It's the day after the official start of Chinese New Year and I haven't been to this area in a couple of years.

I have NO clue as to what is happening in that area on that day.

I would rather do this during the afternoon. Hopefully there will be some nice sunshine but who knows.

This is just a spur of the moment thing. I was planning on being down there anyways. Would be fun to have others around.

The weather network predicts that it could be -15 with windchill! And I'm not sure at this time what the snowstorm's effects will be.

Maybe goto Rol San Chinese Restaurant for a bite afterwards.

I can give 3 regular sized adults a lift coming in from Markham if needed.

Dress for -15 with windchill! plus a lot of walking if I/we goto the lakeshore.

Yup. I'm as organized as a flightly professor.

You can call me (don`t text please as I don`t want to reply in the cold for everyone) 647-889-1183 and my name is really Jackson.

This outing sounds great but I can't break myself away from my office on Friday afternoon....but if anyone is interested in going on a Saturday or Sunday I'd be up for that!

I fear my job is going to get in the way of my new hobby...argh!

Sunset is at what time? Close to 6pm? Sounds like a good idea. When we`re down there, we`ll have to discuss that one. It "might" have to be near/at the waterfront.

There are supposed to be "sunny periods" friday so anywhere will be fine. I'll put myself in as "sure thing".

Haven`t tried these places yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

If anyone hasn`t signed up yet, we`ll need some ballpark of the number of people when we go for a bite so at least put your name in the "later" category. Thanks.

Whoa! Nice to meet up with a couple more photogs. Even the ad-hoc camera buffs we met in the Centre were fun. And I particularly liked that we waited to call it a day until dusk.
edit: i added 2 pics from today to the flickr tpmg stream. beats me if i did good. somebody please check. they are both tagged spadina and tpmg.

I`ve been on a short hiatus for some time, but it was nice to meet a small but determined group to brave the chill! It was definitely fun.

Sorry to those that couldn`t join up with us.

And thanks to Frank for suggesting some great shooting sites! Sue I can`t wait to see your wide angle shots with that Tokina!

Can`t wait for the warmer weather version.
