Damn it - there's a 90% chance I'm going to be in Senegal the weekend of this event - so I'll have to unregister.
If no one is able to take my spot, Daryl, I'll pm you and arrange payment of my $90 so that everyone can still enjoy the shoot.
Sorry guys!

Don't worry Mike - you won't have to pay for the spot since I will take it if calicoangus doesn't take it. He is first on the waiting list, so I won't sign up until we hear from him.

...so that I would know about this cancellation? I definitely will go if we're going by standby list.

Because this event has limited space and a number of interested people the posting asked that if you were on the list but now could not go to PM the people on the stand by list so they could have first refusal before removing your name. This to try and avoid any unhappiness over what could be perceived as que jumping.

If you see an opening you should check if the people on the stand by list ahead of you have seen it.

I am afraid the recent changes have left some concerned about the fairness.

DG

Well, sapg, sometimes it is better to shoot first and ask questions later. I thought that must have been what happened. But now you're off the waiting list too! You shouldn't loose your spot in queue for having a trigger finger.

Well I'm going to have to give up my spot as I have another commitment on that date. I will PM Janet to see if she wants the space.

We will work out an exchange of our names.

I hope we do another one in March as I would be very interested in joining that one.

Janet has now taken my place.

Thanks Janet, hope you enjoy it, since I am unable to attend.

Thanks Maureen.

I would be interested in trying to carpool from Mississauga, since this is January, and I don't enjoy winter driving.

just sent a message -- and if anyone else is interested in tagging along with me -- I am leaving from Ajax -- going along the 401 to the 400 - and heading north. I will stop to get Chris. And I could make another stop - but it needs to be planned out.

My Mother-in-law passed away yesterday and the Funeral is this Saturday. I was hoping we could have the Funeral on Monday, but that didn't work. I therefore have to bow out of this shoot.

I have PMed Shelley, but her last message indicated she couldn't go on this date. I hope someone on the waiting list will be able to take my place.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Sapg was ahead of Shelley on the waiting list. Did you ask her if she still wanted to go?

Not sure I remember where SAPG was on the standby list, but based on her post on page one dated Jan 5 around 7:26 I think she should be next after Shelly.

Thanks for your understanding guys.

I did pm sapg this morning asking if she was still interested. Of course, it IS working hours, so she may only get the message this evening. No word from Shelley, but ditto.

Environment Canada says sunny and -11 in Gravenhurst tomorrow. Snow tonight so we should have fresh cover on the ground. Lets hope they get it right this time! Dress warm!

Snow is forecast for Toronto in the morning. You may wish to allow some extra time to clear the city. Take care going through the snow belt of Barrie to Orillia.

Tim has suggested the Gravenhurst Bar and Grill in Gravenhurst (well duh) just up the highway for the Apr

Thank you everyone for coming out today. It is always a little tricky with these kind of events, but everyone came and I thank you. It was a great day and I hope everyone has images that are awesome. :D

I would like to say that the staff at the Muskoka Wildlife Centre were super. They helped make this a great event with their support, good cheer, and efforts to help us get the best possible images.

Daryl

PS: Just so you know I sent Dale an email thanking him and his staff for their support and help today to make our event a success.

Thank you Daryl very much for organizing this event.

And Tim for the ride.

Just got home, defrosted, all my body parts are still here and functioning well.

I am glad to hear that people enjoyed the event.

I am looking into a second event in March. Hopefully it will give some of the folks who missed out on this trip a chance to go. I have emailed the MWC to check a date and time and will likely post sometime this week.

I am also thinking a return visit in the fall (perhaps the weekend after Thanksgiving) when the animals should be putting on their winter coats with fall colour backgrounds.

Stay tuned.

DG
