ok so if you want a serious answer:

best thing about ipad is that its a lean back rather than lean forward device - e.g. i can sit back on the sofa beside my wife which provides the illusion of togetherness and not be away and uncomfortably upright in my study on the computer.

what if you used just dumb panels and simple electronics to drive them this might work...

They make light panels powered by LED's that are much cheaper and cost effective. This is just someone trying to prove that they can make an inovative technology do something it was not meant for.
