Details:

What: Black Creek Pioneer Village
When: Saturday December 18th 2010
Time: 11:00AM
Where: Please meet at the main visitor's centre at BCPV
Bring: Camera, Tripod if you want - but they are not typicaly allowed inside most buildings. You can use them outdoors no problem.

It's that time of year again -- the annual visit to Black Creek Pioneer Village to capture images of Christmas as celebrated in Victorian times. The village is decorated to the 1860's time period in Upper Canada.

We will most likely enjoy lunch in the Halfway House restaurant - so bring some money with you. Admission varies, you can check out the prices on the Black Creek website: http://www.blackcreek.ca/visitor-inform ... ission.dot

Tripods are not usually welcome inside most of the buildings -- this is both for safety of other visitors and safety of the artifacts. Please respect the rules if you are using a tripod, and one of the staff asks you not to use it.
You can use a tripod outside no problem. So HDR fans will be able to have lots of fun.

Hopefully David doesn't mind me posting a link to some of the photos on his flickr:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/lxdesign/tags/pioneer/

Keep in mind we won't be able to access the Nesbitt Sawmill, and there may may be a mix of photos in there from Lang Pioneer Village. Check the tags to be sure.

Thanks Chris -- actually, there are a few photos of Tyrone Mill that made it under the pioneer tag.... ignore those! As Chris said - Nesbit sawmill is off limits, otherwise -- its a good place to go shooting. I have gone way too many times to count in the last 5 or more years, as I have been a member for the last 3 years - and I always come back with something new every time I go.

It would appear that hardly anyone is coming to this event -- but I am still planning to go.... whether its just Maureen, Ben and myself or not.

First pic!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/5279418780/" title="Which way? by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5050/5279418780_20e4fcf6d9.jpg" width="500" height="310" alt="Which way?"></a>

Two more rolls to process...

nice! Can't wait to see the results from the Kodachrome... I only shot a handful of digital images, but I already have quite a portfolio of work from BCPV from all year round. So I was being picky.

First go at Kodak Tri-X 400:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/5284885320/" title="Between the fences by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5289/5284885320_af9cd81c98.jpg" width="500" height="316" alt="Between the fences"></a>

Liking it. Getting more contrast than I was with TMax right away.

Got my colour roll back too, but it's still scanning.

Why is only the film guy posting? Is everyone stuck in their digital workflow?
