I am planning on taking my Daughter and a couple of her classmates out on a bit of a Photo walk/trek on Saturday weather permitting. The plan so far is to hit

Kensignton Mkt
Graffitti Alley
Distillery District
and then finish up on Yonge St or Theater District after dark

My question is about getting around these locations on a Saturday, what is best place to park and are any of these spots within walking distance of each other

Park at a Green P lot, should be $6 for all day until 6pm on the weekend. Then get a TTC day pass good for 5 people, should be $9.

Have fun.

The Distillery district is the farthest away from everything else, maybe do it first or last. I'm not a driver so I'll leave it to someone else to tell you where to park.

Kensington and Graffitti alley are within walking distance. There is a parkette at the bottom of Kensington near Dundas that I would avoid depending on your tolerance. Really druggy even during the day.

Some of theatre district is south and a bit east from Kensington. You could walk to the Theatre district at King and Simcoe, but it's a good hike.

Have a great time!

Could set up an Ad-Hoc event, and have a flock of amateurs arrive to teach the students

Graffiti Alley, Kensington and the Theatre District are all close enough to each other to walk. Kensington is 10 mins straight north of Graffiti Alley up through Chinatown so it's an interesting walk. The Theatre District is 15 mins southeast. The TIFF Bell LightBox has a couple of free exhibits.

There are several surface parking lots accessible from Queen, Richmond, Adelaide and John Streets (although not as many as there used to be since so many have been converted to offices, condos or condo sales offices). If you prefer to park underground then the ScotiaBank Theatre lot on Richmond west of John would be a good spot since it is mid way between Graffiti Alley and the Theatres on King St. There are also parking garages under the TIFF Bell LightBox (access from Widmer n. of King), the Mirvish theatre parking lot (John north of King) or Roy Thompson Hall (Wellington west of Simcoe).

Yonge Street is a 20 min walk east of Graffiti Alley, and if you head there you could check out Nathan Philips Square along the way for photo ops, and there is parking underneath off Queen St.

I have walked from Queen & Spadina to the Distillery District and it is a good 45-60 minute hoof so you probably don't want to walk to it. There is parking at the south end of the district off Parliament Street, and a couple of lots north of the district off Parliament or Mill St. Or you could take the King Streetcar across to Parliament and its a quick walk south to the district.

I am pretty familiar with Graffiti Alley and the area around the theatres so don't hesitate to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Here are links to a couple of my old Graffiti Alley galleries.
