Details:

What: Late Summer Toronto Islands
When: Sun. Aug 29
Time: 3:30PM Ferry
Where: Ferry Docks

It's look like a good weekend for my seasonal trip to The Islands. If the number of butterflies on my butterfly bushes is any indicator there should be some good macro shots in the meadows. I am aiming to come back just before sunset maybe get some goods shots of the city from the ferry.

Looking out my window I can see about 5 large butterflies maybe Monarchs. This is about twice as many as last year. Plus a one chasing another maybe for sex who knows.. The chasing pair are moving so fast about 2 stories up and then back down in less the a second that I doubt I could catch them on film. I didn't realize they moved that fast a real test for auto-focus tracking.

No problem, the NE part of Wards is protected meadow grass type habitat so is a good place to spend some of the time chasing butterflies.

enjoy the smells of the stinky tofu :lol: I totally bought a batch of them for my mother last night. pretty funny watching people with their noses plugged and walking around.

Thanks for coming out. Potatoe you will need a model release as I'm aiming for a career in hand modelling.

Not many butterflies but Toronto Islands should be renamed to Arachnid Islands

There's a good reason not to do MF macros without a tripod besides the risk that the spider leaps out at you.
