Seems like the Canon S90 was launched not too long ago but it already has a successor - the S95!! And this one has 720p video .. hmm .. where's my wallet?

I don't know...same processor, same CCD sensor, same lens...doesn't seem like a huge upgrade from the S90...

Just bought and LX5 and now I'm thinking I should have waited a bit longer to decide...

Did anyone see that "Miniature Effect" for movie clip? Is that like tilt shift + movie?

Does anyone know the other major differences other than the 720p video?

Looks like the "Miniature Effect" video mode will act as a tilt-shift effect. Pretty cool. All three of Nikon's new P&S cameras will have this feature.

I'm glad they kept it to 10 megapixels. Really, I don't need such big file sizes for a point and shoot.

Also features a better IS system and a HDR mode.

Not that big of a deal but it allows you to take pictures with different aspect ratios (ie. 16:9, 1:1). Just more options really.

I have the SD4000, the mininature effect is cool..for a short while.

720p video is definite nice, especially when it is placed ontop something stable (I try a book). Play the clip on a 52" TV and it's amazing what a little thing can do.

As for image quality at anything higher than 800...let's just said it's 'improved'. not quite DSLR like quality yet.

It almost looks like from these 3 new cameras Canon is no longer pushing the mega-pixel race anymore and focus more on image quality.

I wonder if the Hybrid IS works when taking 720p video. I would think it would but I couldn't find any confirmation anywhere.

I am still happy with my S90. Nobody needs to see my pores at High Def!

Too funny, a quick scan of CL and there are a few on the block - one ad toting the S90 as the best point and shoot out there - that is sooo yesterday!

hmm...720P is very welcome indeed but only up to 24fps? Hmm...
Still, it was video that held me back from the S90 in the first place so the s95 does intrigue me.
I'll just wait till reviews starts coming out to see if they improved the IQ.
