I haven't heard a peep from anyone on TPMG about Caribana this year. Did anyone go? It was a perfect day to capture the kind of images that can only be shot at Caribana

Nice shots! I haven't been to Caribana in over 4yrs now. It was either go to Caribana or play golf... lol

I lived in TnT for 19yrs. Caribana is nice but it's not the "real" deal. The build up to Carnival in TnT is over a couple of months with band launching parties, parking lot "fetes", calypso monach, carnival king/queen contest, steelband contests (panorama), pan yard "limes" and then waking up at 4am on Carnival Monday to play Ole mas and not going to bed until the wee hours of Ash Wednesday.

I was there, but did not get that many good shots this year. The parade was late and there were so many people on the streets keep walking into the shots.

Is not the "big" show agreed, but for TO its a pretty cool. Every year I go, I make new friends, reunite with old friends and get some cool pics. All and all, its a good experience. After 12 hours of shooting I'm out of gas anyway

Third time playing Mas in Toronto, 2nd year with camera in hand.

Good times. Step two in this years trilogy of Port of Spain, Toronto, Miami.

I went this year but I waited until the clouds rolled in. I NEVER go to Caribana until the end of the parade if it is sunny. Harsh lighting + bright saturated costumes = blown highlights and dark shadows - at least for me and my 30D.
