Hi all.

I helped my dad get into digital photography. As a result, I am trying to sell his film equipment for him.

Here's a photo of the set, I have photos of the individual items as well.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/anabolic_frolic/4869111067/" title="Canon AE-1 Program Equipment for sale by anabolic.frolic, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4094/4869111067_991d5c6095.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="Canon AE-1 Program Equipment for sale"></a>

Here's the list:
Canon AE-1 Program (circa 1982 I think)
External flash
Focusing Screen with thirds (original included)
FD 28mm f/2.8
FD 50mm F/1.8
FD 70-200mm F/4
Plus Sky filters on lenses
Camera bag and cases for everything

Everything's in great shape except the flash has a cover with a crack on it, but the flash itself is good and it is a diffuser type cover that has the crack, not the flash itself. Everything functions well.

I talked to Sam at Downtown Camera, and he said without looking at it, he'd probably offer $250 for the kit. Now, knowing he's got his own mark up to add, and that these are all in really good shape for their age, I'm looking for the opinion of the forum on where I should start for an asking price in my adds.

My dad is hoping to get $500 through a private sale. Does anybody who knows this equipment have an opinion on how much this may be worth?

Thanks.

Sell it to DC for $250 RIGHT NOW! You won't get a better price. Anywhere.

Canon AE-1 is worth probably $60 max mint working condition.
The lenses aren't worth much either.. max $30 bucks each.
The rest won't sell alone at all and will be add-ons for no money. And these prices are set IF you're lucky with a buyer.

This is all in my opinion of course. If I was looking for your gear, I wouldn't pay more than what I suggested.

The equipment your father has is common film gear that has gone down in price by a lot in the last 10 years (digital age). The only Canon FD/FL gear I could think that has retained some kind of value would be the F-1 and fast lenses like the 55/1.2.
