So a few of us are hanging out in my back yard, waiting for the show. Nothing yet.

Although we are seeing more meteors than last year according to sushant.

I saw more shooting stars than the last meteor shower where we froze our asses off. No fancy lights though. Damn astrologists. I am never doing this again.

Thanks chris for letting us use your back yard and lu for driving

But then again, these things are hard to predict with high accuracy and although Chris lives considerably far North,
there is still light pollution, so Torrance Barrens might have yielded a better view.
Don't give up ;)

For some little inspiration, in the end, some people got very lucky with the Aurora Borealis tonight:

Last nights show from Norway though. One of the better aurora locations on the planet at the worst times.

From the David Dunlap Observatory homepage:

Quote:
More than 1,000 turned out on Tuesday night in hopes of viewing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). While we were too far south to see the show, people had a chance to learn about space weather and check out the stars through the Great Telescope and smaller telescopes set up on the lawn. Many thanks to CityTV, Global, CTV, CFRB, 680 News and the Toronto Star for letting people know 'There's no place like Dome."

Did we just fall for a sleek PR campaign to publicize the Observatory?
