While on my way to the tall ships I saw a couple of fez toting Shriners and thought nothing of it. Saw a few more today on the subway today and this time it got me thinking. I checked the news and noticed that there is a Shriner Parade today at 1 PM starting at Queen's park and going down University Ave. Short notice for sure - sorry.

This should be good fun for those who appreciate the fun, the unusual and the absurd. Grown men wearing purple fez hats will be driving toy cars down our widest avenue accompanied by clowns.
Sadly it's looking like I am chained to my desk for the day.....If you don't have to work today, don't mind oppressive heat and think you can tame the highlights of a midday sun then this could be a fun event to photographh.
Hope some of you can make it.

turns out I did make it - hope my boss doesn't read this thread :shock:
I was extremely hot and humid - even worse on the asphalt of University Ave. It was somewhat overcast so the highlights weren't more than what my 30D could handle. But well worth it for the chance to catch the grown men with their toys. Managed to get a few keepers.

yeah...i kinda went but i didn't have my camera with me that day so i walked by university ave half hour before the parade and ended up taking a couple of shots with my crappy phone camera :oops:
