Blossoms are out full power, in two days it's going to be completely covered. As of right now there are already hundreds of people with cameras (Friday 2:30pm) Too windy though

High Park, April 16, 2:30 pm

If you want to catch them, you need to move the event to this Week-end

I'm not available this weekend for the shoot.

However if all the blooms are gone by next weekend we can still go and shoot in the park or we can cancel all together -- what do people think.

Thanks for keeping us informed.

Thanks also for dropping by the F8 show at 23 Prince Arthur (1 block north of the Bloor St /Aveue Rd intersection) and checking out the exhibit.

Damn, I would love to come out, but I'm working. I haven't gone out to an event for several months.

The blooms (pink kanzan) at the playground are just starting to bud, so they could be full bloom this weekend.

I still want to go if I get some company.

Thanks Maureen for organizing such a fabulous outing. It was a lot of fun, I can't wait to see everyone's photos.

Thanks for calling me Alice, I would have gone home otherwise.

Thanks Pam, you really save my day. ;)

I only had my point & shoot, but here are a few photos anyways.

Plum Blossoms:

Here is one of my many sakura photos, but it wasn't taken today. More on my flickr page.

Thanks everyone for coming out. It was a great turn out. Not sure how many of us there was as we seemed to be spread out at the start, but we did have a fair amount us.

Nice to meet Bill from Philadelpia, Glad you came out and shoot. Also Jeff and his son Jaydel.

Nice to see some new faces as well as the regular people too.

It was a great day. It was nice that we still had Cherry Blossoms, but I don't think they'll last much longer as some are starting to already fall.

Morning everyone.

The 4 hours of sleep, sunrise, and almost 8 hours in the park made it a good event. I almost 14 hours when I got home.

Some one asked me about a lighthouse on Lake Erie, I believe this is the one you are talking about. It is called Point Abino Lighthouse - it is on Private Property and there are a few tours to it during the summer months.

http://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=1089 -- lighthouse & info

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& ... 028809&z=6 -- this offers a map locations of the Ontario Lighthouses and further info upon zooming in on a particular lighthouse.

All I managed to find are the silly photographers:

This one didn't bother with the viewfinder:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4553566364/" title="Taking a shot by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3244/4553566364_8217b0666a.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="Taking a shot"></a>

This one trying to check if the kid cleaned behind his ears:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4553594048/" title="Having a look by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4039/4553594048_6a6e23e535.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="Having a look"></a>

This one looking the wrong way:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4552956507/" title="Wrong way, I think by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3491/4552956507_14e9252b81.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="Wrong way, I think"></a>

From all three trips to High Park this year:

No one bothered us, but when most of the people there were also shooting the Cherry Blossoms it might be hard to stop a group and many families or groups of people were there. There seemed to be lots of people there even early in the am. the first half of the sunrise people were there around 7:15 and the lot was half full. I got there at 7:50 and about 3/4 or more of the lot was full. I'd say by 8:30 you might be lucky if you found a spot. There was even a group of people there with some instructor giving lessons on how to shoot the light within the park.

Thanks Alice. I've been to High Park many times but I've never actually checked out the area around Colborne Lodge. I'll check it out next time I go.

I finally got caught up after returning from my trip - posted some photos on flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ascites29/sets/72157623874784795/

Thanks for organizing a great event and making me feel welcome.
I had a great time in Toronto and look forward to my next visit.

My Holga got a little action.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ascites29/4584105685/" title="2010-HOLGA-302 by Ascites29, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4584105685_7938235a1b_o.jpg" width="640" height="639" alt="2010-HOLGA-302"></a>

Breakfast was a necessity, especially with the sunrise start.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ascites29/4581507963/" title="20100424-DSC_2280 by Ascites29, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4001/4581507963_9f3eff1ac3_o.jpg" width="428" height="640" alt="20100424-DSC_2280"></a>

Thanks for the Northern hospitality!
