What: Gumball 3000 Rally
When: Thur. May 6, 2010
Time: 3PM
Where: Yorkville
Bring: Earplugs

The Gumball 3000 Rally makes a pitstop in Toronto tomorrow! I am leaving Toronto earlier in the day! AHHH! So please, go in my spirit, and take photos for me? :P

Wow! those guys are completely crazy! I've got a couple of their videos where they are driving 2x, 3x, 4x the speed limit along highways, outrunning cops, crashing multi-million dollar cars etc...

It's become a very commercialized event with large sponsors entering cars for some publicity. I'm not even sure if they race any more. I think they just haul the cars from city to city and party every night lol.

One of my friends wanted to enter his monster truck into this race years and years ago, but decided in the end not to for the sake of sanity!

I'm not even sure if it ever was a race in the true sense of the word. It's more like a really expensive road trip around the world for those who can afford it.

I will be going at least to check out the A-Team van Tony Hawk is driving (great, now the theme song is stuck in my head).

...and by a-team van you mean the ssc aero? or was it one of the many slr's? perhaps it was the lp670 sv? no, must have been the veyron? f-forty? F-FIFTY?!

Lol, i'm pretty sure the cars will be stationary and its drivers will be off in a hotel somewhere, I'm not bringing ear plugs.

Around 7 they were still checking into their up scale hotels. Certainly not like the good old days, not really motor sports more like a commercial and tame something or other.
