I posted this on POTN but in case there are any Linux users here I thought I'd give here a shot too.

I changed the colour space on my 7D from sRGB to Adobe RGB. After doing so UFRaw, or any other raw editor I have installed, loads raw files like this:

[img]home.cogeco.ca/~ionsvw/images/7D/UFRawproblem.jpg[/img]
No idea why the image isn't loading...

So I switched back to sRGB. The problem remains. Every raw file I have taken since changing to Adobe RGB and back to sRGB loads this way. Raw files taken before the initial change still load properly.

To fix this I installed the icc-profile from the Ubuntu repos. Nothing changed. Any idea how I can fix this?

the image does look strange but you also have the exposure compensation set too high.

What, specifically, are the problems you see? I don't know what the original is supposed to look like so I don't know what to recommend.

This is a jpeg (I shoot both raw and jpeg) of the same image straight from camera.

[img]home.cogeco.ca/~ionsvw/images/7D/FerrisWheel1.jpg[/img]

That raw image isn't a crop, that's how it opens.

No idea why my bbcode tags aren't working...

underneath the exposure compensation you'll see a bunch of tabs.
Go to the "crop and rotate" tab and just make sure everything is reset to the defaults.

I've done that with both UFRaw and Rawstudio. I've clicked every tab and button to no avail.

Figured out what was wrong with the links, Chromium doesn't have the http:// in links that are bookmarked. Here they are:

Roughly how all my raw images appear - just the left side and a lovely shade of magenta. This happens in both ufraw and rawstudio

The same image in jpeg form (as I said I shoot both - partly for reasons such as this).

no idea about the cropping problem then.

as for the colour - I'd select 'camera WB' and reset the exposure to 0 to get it to what the jpg looks like.

Try RAWTHERAPEE? does the problem persist? perhaps post one of your raw files (an off shot). We can test it on windows. I use raw therapee and gimp.

Well at least you can work until the solution is found. Glad to help!
