What: Random Durham/Port Hope Road Trip

So, taking after Hotwire's random road trip idea --- I have the day free this coming Sunday, and was thinking of going for a bit of a driving tour in the Durham area. Chris is also interested in doing north east - but I thought we probably wouldn't go too far north, just stick around the Durham/Port Hope district area.

I know some places that we can go to shoot, so bring your road map, and we'll just pick out some locations, and go from there. Probably done around dinner time, and if anyone has to abandon ship at some point during the outing, that's no problem.

We'll meet for 10am at the Tim Horton's at Harwood & Bayly in Ajax, and go from there. I know quite a few of the mills in these regions, and we could visit some of them, plus look for other things in the area.

If you are looking to get a ride, you might want to post it here, and see who is free to pick you up.

I can offer rides from Kennedy Subway or at the intersection of Danforth and Warden where the blue line bus seems to make the short turn before going to Kennedy Subway.

I just made arrangements to meet someone in Aurora in the morning (10:00-11:00), but I could likely meet up with you after that.

That's my plan too! I just need to audit it before sending out, so hope I can get out for something active to enjoy the sun. I can't believe it snowed lightly this morning.

I'm really hoping to join - it's been a while I went out to one of the events.

I just managed to change the time I'm meeting someone in Aurora to 8:30-9:00, so I should be able to make it to Ajax for 10:00.

Janet, sounds good -- you can alays call my cell or Maureen's to find out where we are just in case you're running late.

How late do you plan to shoot etc?

honestly... not entirely sure, but probably done by 6pm at the latest. maybe sooner.

I'm hoping to attend this. I'll confirm later tonight. I have a minimum two seats in my car, perhaps 3... departing from Port Credit and can pick anyone up along the way.

Hoped to join, but now have some family obligations can't work around.

I would have liked to go but Janet said she might stay later. I get up at 3am Monday for work so need to get to bed early-- unless I book Monday off work. Maybe next time. Have fun!

Wow we clocked 324km from my door back to my door and when I topped up the gas it was 30, not to worry all is cool. Top 1/4 always seems to be bigger; 1/2 around 50, and last 1/2 around 20-25 depending upon how empty/low the tank is.

Awaiting the next trip!

Oh, yes the boys made it to the movies, too. Dropped them off after getting gas and just have to get them later.
