It's been a very long time since I've gotten up for a sunrise - I don't know how you early people do it? But seeing that I couldn't sleep, I decided to head down to the beaches to see what mother nature had in store for us on this gorgeous day.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this for those who couldn't (and most probably shouldn't) have gotten up so early today.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/shaky_jt/4485298513/" title="Good Friday Sunrise 4 by shaky JT, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4072/4485298513_3dc583117f_o.jpg" width="332" height="500" alt="Good Friday Sunrise 4"></a>

BTW. I did speak briefly with another photographer there; I'm just curious if he's on here?

Thanks guys.

Chopper: This was taken after sunrise at around 7:15am. Sunrise yesterday was at 6:57am. No direct warming filter was used although I added a warming effect when processing in Lightroom.

Delsorbo: True, 7am isn't that early, but I actually woke up at 5am and was tossing and turning for about an hour before I gave up on getting back to sleep. I used The Photographer's Ephemeris to figure out the sunrise time and that the beach might be a good location for a pic. It's a great tool and have to thanks those who made reference to it on this board.

Agree about TPE. I've been meaning to wake up early and go out to get some sunrise shots. The only feature they need to add to this tool is some sort of sure-fire alarm clock that will make me get out of bed that early

I have two photos from Good Friday as well.

6:30 am reached Lake Ontario at Guildwood Park, Fortunately there was a wonderful sunrise, calm lake water with red and blue colors, changing by minuters!

Very nice! I like this much better than the OP's photo -- sorry.... photography is subjective afterall. Straighten the horizon.... and you have a very nice image... I like the use of simplicity in the image. Plus, you have managed to keep the sun from blowing out like crazy - good work.
