I have tried them years ago when I still didn't know about printer color profiles and such. I ended up disappointed as my pictures came underexposed since I did not calibrate my monitor. Make sure you ask them about this so that your expectations are met :)

The software is only as good as the processing speed on your computer -- and working with TIFFS is going to demand a LOT of processing speed! I had excellent results with them doing a photo book for my wedding images. But I was working with all Jpegs supplied by our photographer. The system was a tad slow once I got all the images loaded, but I got it all done within reasonable amount of time. Now I am working with a newer Quad core laptop -- probably going to take way less time.

You don't necessarily have to use their software either -- you can download templates and compose all of your pages in photoshop or illustrator.

I've only tried photobooks with Black's. I have calibrated monitor, so it turned out the way I wanted. The only downside was time to get it printed. Took more than a week! Never going back to Black's for that... sorry Tyler

As for Tiff files, you don't really need them in Tiff to send to printing, you can convert to 90% or 100% Jpeg and it will be enough, as long as you don't re-save them after editing again

Then you won't be going to Pikto either -- as the turn around for a photo book is roughly 7 days as well.

Thanks for the replies . I managed to get in touch with them on Sat. and they said to use jpegs because the program can't really handle tiffs even though their website says it can . If I have to use jpegs then I can just get the book printed through Apple for half the price of Pikto .
Thanks
Rob

I just have to say ... even using Jpegs for Pikto's books --- the quality is really good as long as you are starting with good quality jpegs. But then again, the cost is a bit on the high side compared to blurb or apple.
