Hi

I really enjoyed watching this video of David Hobby. Zack Arias. Joey L. do a photo shoot out at the Gulf Photo Plus presentation. I think it is a worth while watch.

Thanks for sharing. Joey Lawrence - I thought he came off as arrogant and a punk imo.

Note this is all from the edited video as I haven't had time to watch the full thing.

I like how David Hobby explained things as he went, and how he talked to the models. I liked his shot the best.

I know Zack was kidding around, but it seems like he wasted too much time pretending he didn't know what he was doing, and I didn't hear him direct the models much (I suspect that the youtube version will prove otherwise).

Joey L.. kind of funny, but I wish he took it seriously so we could see how he works.

He's got several dvd sets that show exactly how he works.

Fast, loose, and doesn't let anything get in the way of his creativity. He's not really hung up on the technical details in his dvds, he openly admits several times to "winging it" and "not knowing what <something> does".

One of those "doers" as opposed to the "dreamers".

I was a bit disappointed with Joey L but I honestly chalk it up to youth. I do believe he was trying to be funny (I'm sure some of us have had jokes back fire on us).

But overall I agree there was a good demonstration by David Hobby on how to have a rapor with your subject and deal with difficulties or limitations. Personally it was refreshing watching the interaction since I often find it is the social skill which I find missing in many of the books and training material we see online.
