Ryan, you shouldn't worry, your cameras in the eyes of security don't look pro, unless you bring something big. I am taking a tripod, my camera is small and no pro

I've been stopped with a 1953 kodak pocket folder before. To some security any thing film looks different so they connect it to some strange pro gizmo even if it's obvious that it's not:P

Of course my MF camera says professional so it's twice as difficult to explain to them that it might have been professional in the 1970s but now days...

My reason for no tripod actually has nothing to do with security just my desire to travel light and the type of photos I'm after.

I was told that I cannot to use a tripod without a permit by the security there some time last year. I will try a fast prime lens without a tripod this time...

I will be TAing until 6pm.. Please do not wait for me if I'm not there on time.

As I mentioned, we do have a permit so tripod is not an issue.

Oops. Sorry, I didn't read posts carefully. I am not sure if I have time to go home to pick up my tripod.

Thank you for your efforts to get the permit!

I will bring a friend of mine who is not a TPMG member yet. I hope there are no problems with this. I will ask him to sign up otherwise..

I don't see any problems with him attending. This becomes an issue in events with limited space available.
