yup, technology has come a long way. I still like the idea of having someone ski my film down the hill to develop it. That would be cool.

In a sea of sports shooters with the same vantage point, camera and glass as you, thats definitely a sweet way to get your pics to the front of the line. You would be making money before some shooters even open up their laptops to upload. Crazy.

Depends .... given that the IOC has tight control in how their images are used.

But yeah, the whole speed-to-market at this game vs Calgary is night and day.

This is the way the house photog was shooting at So You Think You Can Dance Canada. The main shooter was hooked up to a laptop and they were updating the website almost live.

Next feature in probody camera would add a wifi build in to it.

Actually I'm surprised they were hard wired.

why dont' they just take a frame from hd video? the camera is pretty much running like a video camera

Noticed how much they cropped the image? DSLR... more resolution to work with compared to an HD camera. Plus I'm guessing it's much cheaper to use a DSLR at numerous locations than equipping each with a broadcast quality HD video cam.

An HD frame still isn't as good as a single DSLR picture.
