Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. I am trying to find a macro photography class and haven't had much luck finding anything that specific online. Does anyone know of anywhere in the city that offers such a class? Thanks!

I don't know about a "macro" course but we just had a macro outing last Sunday that you should have come to :)
A lot of people at TPMG shoot macro so if you come out to almost any event,
even the social on Feb 28th, just bring your macro lens and I am sure all your questions will be answered.
There is lots of info on the net available.... such as
http://photo.net/learn/macro/
But the best way is to practice and try different things.

Tim

Yes, I think practice is a very good way to learn. Just go to Allan Gardens and start shooting. You get to shoot with different apertures and if you don't like some of your shots, you can always go back and shoot some more. During weekdays, there's hardly anyone there, especially in this kind of weather. Have fun~

Jennifer, suggest you post a message in the Mentor section of the site...maybe someone would be willing to mentor you.

What you are taught depends if you're using an SLR (able to attach a macro lens or extension tube), or whether you are just using closeup filters (dioptres).

Not a lot. Here is one possibility at the Toronto Botanical Garden (located at James Garden) at the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Leslie Street.

As far as I remember Henry's has a class on close-up photography, check their School of Imaging web.
As a sidenote, I'd strongly recommend saving the money and googling "macro technique" as well as joining us on a macro outing, most people already know these techniques or have developed their own, so you can just ask them.

You can always take a look at this thread and ask questions too. I'm assuming no one will mind answering.
