Er.. anyone here would like to buy my umbrella?

I got one from MPEX, unboxed it, and found that I prefer my other one better.

The ad is here: http://tpmg.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?p=121216#121216

MPEX sells it for US$19.60 + shipping and taxes etc
I'm asking for CAD20.

If you are coming Sunday, bring it along, I am sure someone will snag it from you. I have a few Westcott's - nice quality indeed.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I would definitely suggest to have SD and Jamesy there and if the event changes to a date that doesn't work, we'll definitely have another.

They've put in a lot of effort into this and its a great opportunity to have some mutual learning experience with everyone in one spot.

If it does change to Sunday, I may be able to stop by shortly but I won't be able to fully participate.

Just to clarify the new date of the event has changed to Sunday the 4th of October from 10am to 2pm - just so there is no confusion.

Justin: if you get a chance can you update the front page details to reflect the new date.

Hopefully, the weather holds up for Sunday. :) Cross your fingers.

It would be OK if it went from being cloudy (soft light) to sunny (hard light) - that would be a practical example of two extremes of light quality ;)

and if it rains we could try using the umbrellas as shelter against the rain!

(think about it - $30 umbrella or $2k camera and lens?)

They're not paper umbrellas, so I doubt that they'll be destroyed under a light rain.

By destroyed, I mean used as a normal umbrella. Not sure if they'll still function as shoot throughs or reflective umbrellas after.

Probably a reflective one won't be too bad, since the reflective surface is on the inside.

Hi All,

Due to a myriad of reasons - Justin not being able to attend on wednesday, not enough daylight, cold and rain in the forecast - we have decided to reschedule this event for this Sunday the 4th of October from 10am to 2 pm. Hopefully everyone will still be able to attend. This will allow us enough daylight to talk about the theory and do some practical exercises. The location remains unchanged: "High Park, at the Grenedier Cafe and Tea House in the outside cafe (plenty of free parking) and about a 5-8 min walk from High Park (east end exit --> Bus side) TTC station. 200 Parkside Dr, Toronto, Ontario"

http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&um=1&i ... um=6&ct=14

We apologize for the late notice. Remember to read up on the theory (see links previously posted) so we can hit the ground running and bring all the gear you have so we can play :)

Note: The organizers are not strobist experts by any stretch of the imagination but hopefully together we will all have a better understanding of off camera lighting at the end of the workshop. :)
Cheers.

Still at High Park - see above. Unfortunately not indoors - dress appropriately.

Hey guys. Make sure to check back here by 9pm Saturday Night just in case we have to cancel/postpone due to rain. Flash equipment and rain don't mix unfortunately. As of now it's predicting isolated showers which I can live with but if it gets worse we'll have to reassess.

We will be taking attendance so if you can't make it please update the sign up sheet so others can attend.

Cheers,
James

Hi all,

I have crammed together a lot of the information we provided as links into one pdf file. For the participants please download this file, print it and bring it with you to the event. This will save me printing out 400+ pages. :)

Okay guys and gals - I'm heading out for the night so this will be my last post. The weather report is still calling for isolated showers but I'm not going to let that stop us. If it really gets too wet to use our flash gear then we'll just sit and have coffee :)

So remember to bring your printout, gear and a chair. See you all there!!
