I tried something but did it quick..

in PS, magic wanded the background, select inverse, layered via copy, new layer, coloured it the same blue but not as toned as that one, and the moved around my layers for the plane

Ah, since I had the airplane in its own layer with no background, I selected that layer and moved it around accordingly

Maybe this will help

Using the Move tool in PS... its usually the top of the Tools, or press "V" on the keyboard, that's the hotkey for that mode.

Then you'll be able to grab the object and move it anywhere

Good point as the sky is not a constant colour the image will look flat if you replace it with a constant colour.

Because of the small image size you might not notice the difference.

The extra steps I did with the sky layer:

- make a sky layer from the original sky
- fill In the plane with the nearest blue using the mask
- Large diameter Gaussian blur to obscure the transitions
- Added a 6% gradient from top right to bottom left with the darkest at the top
- moved the plane to the new position
- brighten the combine final image only around the sky levels

Layers are probably the most powerful feature in Photoshop. There are several tutorials on the web that you can google (ie.: photoshop layers tutorial).
