Someone fire some focal lengths my way? I'll take the first two suggestions provided I have that focal length or close to.

Since it will be mostly street photography you'd probably want wide to normal, or maybe to mild telephoto (70mm or less). Of course it all depends on the photos YOU want to take...go out on your own street with a choice of lenses (so you don't have to carry the weight too far) and try to see which ones you'd like for this type of photography.

You'd probably wouldn't want to use strong or extreme telephoto for this type of photography (that'd be 150mm and up) but it all depends again on you and what you want.

Haha I like the challenge of leaving the focal length up in the air. It breaks the norm and forces one to rethink the common paradigms about various environments. Like I enjoyed the 50mm Normal Prime walk and the 35mm Wide Angle walk. You got one lens only, how do you go about using that to re-express your insights/thoughts about a particular area.

Ya I know. But thats what trial and error and learning is for right? I've been using it on and off for a couple weeks and it's not bad. I'm still new to all this so I guess if I want to learn about exposure and metering(and manual focus), this is a good learning experience.

Kudos on that choice! Not many use legacy glass and few dare to use it on a D40 or a Nikon D## series. There's alot of good film era manual lenses for Nikon available and once you get a good feel for exposure (usually one or two guesses away anyways), you'll realize alotta potential!

Suggested routes:
- Yonge > Queen West > Spadina (Shops, cafes)
- Yonge > King West > Spadina (People in suits, business buildings)
- Yonge > Bloor > Yorkville Area (lots of lights for great bokeh)

Have you nailed down the route yet in case someone comes late? I'm still on the iffy list though, although I'd like to put my MF lenses through their paces.

I'll probably walk along King West but everybody can take their own routes. We meet back at Dundas Square at 9pm.
