Is Top Gear magazine the same people behind Top Gear the awesome TV show?

Both the tv series and the magazine feature amazing photography, the recent Africa special was phenomenally filmed, especially considering their resources and location. I don't really like cars at all but the camaraderie of the hosts and the stunning photography makes the show a must see. Also see the Artic special for some amazing HD work in the most extreme circumstances.

There is some crossover, but I think it's more accurate to say they're part of the same 'family' but not the same people, though people from the show do appear in the mag. The offices for the mag are in a different part of the UK than the TV show offices, which are in one of the BBC buildings in London (Clarkson drove through them on a recent show).

Great link. Love Top Gear. I seldom download episodes now, but when I did, the hosts and cinematography really made the show.

I always liked the races (especially between different modes of transport) and the celebrity laps (especially Gordon Ramsey's bleep filled footage).

Btw, The Stig can't possibly be Michael Schumacher. The Stig doesn't hit other cars and doesn't steal another driver's girlfriend.

they already pointed out that this maybe a joke.
BTW, JK looked like Herman Munster after the train trip.

Yeah. They hinted at the end of Season 13, Ep 1 that he couldn't be the Stig. I'm pretty sure it was a joke and just their way of kicking off Season 13 and fill the celebrity guest section of the show.

I'm more curious as to who the black Stig was. Or was it just a joke and the Stig never actually changed?

Quote:
After a brief retirement, McCarthy returned to sports car racing, appearing at Le Mans in 2002 and numerous other events. In 2002, he released his autobiography entitled Flat Out, Flat Broke, in which he spoke candidly about his time in Formula One and his work for the BBC's Top Gear motoring show as The Stig, a masked, anonymous, racing driver who evaluated the latest high performance cars. McCarthy was the original, black-suited Stig of the first two series, who was "killed off" at the start of the 3rd series for revealing his identity.

ahhhh....didn't know that. So the white Stig better keep hush hush.

I think they have several white stigs, just to prevent this from happening again.

That's my guess anyway, because it's widely known that it was one of the Renault drivers who drove the R28 around their test track, instead of the "normal" white stig.

And different flavours of the white stig... fat stig and african stig (well, white helmet at least) as an example :)
