I guess it'll be at Cherry Beach? I have a bag full of goodies and the weather looks decent...but there's not a lot of interest/confirmed :( Maybe I should reschedule?

I'm still interested. Was waiting to see where the location was going to be etc. I'm good for either cherry beach or ashbridges bay.

I will be a bit late tho, probably around 7pm or just after.

ps if ur bringing steel wool for shots like that maybe ashbridges bay is better with the big beach/sand area. sand=no fires!

If you plan to reschedule, I'll be interested as I've been wanting to experiment with steel wool :D Unfortunately, I have a friend's wedding that night, so it's a no-go for me :(

Yeah, Ashbridges has a bigger beach but it's really visible from the road/boardwalk/houses. I don't want noisy people being freaked out by all the lights and sparks.

Cherry Beach should have enough sand space to play around plus we can wade closer to the water if necessary.

I'm definitely interested, but don't want to put myself down as a "Yes" until the day of, depending on how I feel. This has been one hellish stressful week, and I may just need to go home Friday night and crash on the couch....

Another event I was going to attend just before the outing Friday got cancelled so there's no point in going downtown just for one thing, as much as I like doing painting with light.

Besides it looks like rain Friday afternoon & evening.

That's funny. I've also had a hellacious week, but it makes me want to go out and do something completely different and fun. Then I'll crash. Everyone's different.

Can anyone help me out and tell me how to get to Cherry Beach by TTC? I'm coming in from Finch Station I'm a wee bit foggy on it... haven't been there in a while.

May also be late... is anyone willing to give me their cell number for communications sake?

Thanks,
Steph.

I have my car parked on the Esplanade. PM me for details/number if you require a ride to Cherry Beach. Will probably leave around 6:15-6:30PM

Let's meet at the lifeguard station on Cherry Beach around 7ish. I might swing by the docks or the bridge to checkout the skyline first.

So yeah, mikefellh's link shows all that you need for steel wool spinning- just make sure it's fine steel wool. It's suppose to burn better. You can find them in the paint sections of Cantire or Home Depot.

Also, I can't find my LED pen light. Boo. I have a couple of flashlights but they don't have super narrow beams. Hopefully others have some lights?

PM if you need my cell.

Cover up and dress warm! It's gonna be chilly...and there might be some sparks flying around :D

for the docks, keep in mind that its going to bet nuts due to Friday club operation. You would need to walk there as there is no parking on Polson street. T&T supermarket parking is an option but they usually keep an eye for none customers.

Also, TTC 72B bus to Cherry beach only runs up to labour day weekend.

For those travelling by TTC, 72B leaves from Union few minutes after 7PM and goes all the way to Cherry Beach and 72A going from the same place with a frequency of 13' will get you to the corner of Cherry and Commisioners St. I hope this helps.

Yeah, usually I do too, but this one has left me physically exhausted (I had to pack, haul, and unpack boxes to move classrooms within 3 days), and I feel a cold coming on. :(

Will update this afternoon whether I'll be joining in or not. At this point, I'm thinking I don't want to chance the cold developing into a full-fledged illness....
