Funny, it's been like that for months and months now, but it's only now that anyone is making a big deal of it. I remember changing my settings for this like 5 months or so ago.

Takes time for news to go around. It's not like Facebook sent us any information about it.

If you post images on facebook or flickr, what do you expect?

If you don't want your amazing images used, put them up on a proper site like photoshelter with a licence fee and watermark, then post the images of your dog and aunt betty on facebook, life will be good.

Actually, it seems worse than just using people's images. It's using people's images, like your profile picture, to SELL things.

I had a problem with a firefox browser, could not see the option... needed to switch to Safari to see the option menu.

There is a reason why I don't put photos on facebook.... as a matter of fact, I barely use it as is.

A Friend of mind found herself on a poster at York University one day. They were advertising a York Facebook group, and she was the poster girl.
She wasn't impressed.

I don't think anything in Flickr's terms of service allow them to give others permission to use your photos. (Then again, I haven't really gone over the TOS all that closely.)

Facebook has denied this, and snopes.com lists it as an urban myth; but I suppose it can't do any harm to click on the thingy.
