So I kind of scoffed at this thread for a while and was wondering how it's persisted so long... but then it dawned on me that I have a contribution! lol

i forgot to say how many i'm going to give out

ok...i have 20 sheets of the 120 archival preservers, each sheet holds 12 negatives...so each person can have a set of 5 sheets...i don't have too many photo sleeves...so i can only spare 3 sheets each of the 4x6, 5x7, and 8x12. so the first 7 people to post their garbage shots here and also over at my garbage group get either a set (5 sheets) of the 120 archival preservers or a set (3 sheets) of the 4x6, 5x7, or 8x12 photo sleeves. just let me know if you want preservers or sleeves. i'll bring your prizes for you over at the social.

have fun shooting

Here is one I shot a few days ago. When I saw it I immediately thought of this thread and fired away.

You're going to go nuts for this then,

http://www.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/exh ... A&mapID=10

Quote:
A garbage receptacle, familiar and quite easily overlooked, is centre to this all but ordinary sight. What appears to be just another piece of street furniture is in fact something quite fantastical. Within the container is a miniature and fully animated concert stage. The strange melodic sound that pounds from within the container is the first hint of something extraordinarily mysterious. Upon closer investigation one becomes aware of the smoke belching out of the container. Peering inside reveals all the grandeur of the concert experience, albeit a doll house version. This project both reflects, and exists within, the city; an urban landscape where the strange is only too familiar, and where the abnormal is in fact the norm. It brings together two distinctive worlds, that of the extremely familiar (the furniture of the city) and the fantastically bizarre (the spectacle of the concert event). The project has evolved from the recent work 'Staging the Gap' which explores the intricate relationship between the audio and visual experience, as found within the concert event. More information on this and other works is available at www.indexproject.com/robert.
