Hi All.

Im starting to get into flash photography a bit more, but I do still have a few questions.
So my experience with flash has got me to my flash sync of 1/160 on my camera to a set of strobes via wireless triggers.
However, IF I use a wired connector - Can I increase my flash sync speed?

Sorry for the newbie question...

The automatic sync speed is dependent on the camera and its shutter mechanism. This can vary from camera model to camera model.

Depends on your camera's specs ie shutter design and strobes/flash. Your strobes and camera would need to support hi-speed sync to shoot faster than the regular flash sync speed which is around 1/160-1/200 depending on your camera. Hi-speed sync is a trick of the flash to multi-pop so you don't get that black band on your pics.

I think one of the very few DSLRs that can shoot at high shutter speeds is/was the Nikon D70 which I think had a pseudo leaf shutter.
