Details :
What : Coldwater Steampunk Festival
Where : Coldwater Ontario
When : August 10th
Time : Meetup at 10am

Bring camera equipment and comfortable walking shoes.

We will meet at the intersection of Coldwater road, SturgeonBay road, River Street and Bay Street. Yes all four streets meet :)
There is a little park with bench across from the HomeHardware store.

Last year was the first year for the SteamPunk festival in Coldwater and the turn out was quite nice. Should be better this year.

Things start around 10am and go throughout the day until around 4pm

Coldwater is a small town so those who want to show up later should have no problem finding us.

Sort of a fashion statement. Some cool costumes and machines and art work.

Plus Coldwater has a lot of nice old buildings and the Coldwater Mill. Small place but lots to see and photograph.

Am i reading right ? Is the Torrance Barrens shoot later this same day ? Could be tricky for transportation permutations & combinations, so be aware.

I'm a maybe but I'd need a ride. There's something about steampunk that just bugs me but it could be interesting to shoot.

Although this could go in the Aftermath section, this trip to Coldwater was a real blast. Everyone in town wanted their picture taken, and what a cast of characters. Thanks for organizing Tim.
I didn't go to Torrence, but had a nice afternoon drive home via country roads. The whole day was a great getaway.

Thanks to everyone who made it out. The weather was perfect and the people in Coldwater very friendly.
Hope everyone had a great time.

Just FYI Christoper, none of my Coldwater shots involved a polarizer (the landscapes there and back did). I just process for a lot of saturation.

Well Dmitrijs, Toronto would probably have "stronger" steampunk, but this rural incarnation was a lot of fun. I don't think steampunk is so much crazy, as whimsical and lighthearted. Plus people were practically ASKING us to photograph them.

Huh. I try to do that too. I thought the reflections looked toned down as well. There goes my credibility in assessing a shot. Hehe.
