I might be able to do June 1, but a different date would be preferable, so I signed up for Group B.

Do they do Sundays?
I may be able to make June 1, but have to confirm a few things first...I'm in Europe the weekends of June 8-9 & 15-16, then in Africa starting June 29 till about Jul 10th...

At this point, I could likely do any of the Sundays in June, as long as it is early enough in the morning for me to leave no later than 1:00pm. I also appear to be available for June 22 and 29. However, it is hard to commit this far ahead, particularly since I am now getting a lot of weekend work, and I don't know how long that will last.

Hey Yeshwanth there are finally 5 people for Saturday June 1. Is payment in advance required? Cant we all just pay at the meetup? People are still liable for the money even if they dont show up. Either that or they dont go on any more outings.

You need to collect the money in advance: no money, no event

The raptor shoot is from 11 to 12 noon. At 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm there is a reenactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek. Here is a map of the route from one location to the other (top left to bottom right). Lots of time to do both.

I am hoping to do the battle that weekend, preferably on the Saturday. However, I can‘t commit to that yet.

@ Paul, yea I think its should be one good day of shooting.

@Janet, yea it would be fine one, hope you can make it.

@ Tdong, Since i cannot do 2 events I would rather leave someone else take over and fix another day I wish I can do another event but I cannot.

I'll take it!

By the way, the following is the list I was given at the centre of the birds that you can shoot:
Owls:
Eastern Screech Owl
Barn Owl
Great Horned Owl
Falcons:
American Kestrel
Merlin
Peregrine Falcon
Gyrfalcon
Hawks:
Red Tailed Hawk

In the hour, they can do 4-5 birds.
If you do four, you have more time to shoot each one and they can put one or two of them on more than on perch (rock, log, in the trees, etc.)...

They are tethered.
Its out in the open, and some of them (being rescues, not bread and trained) can't fly.

Thats unfortunate. Ive seen more than a couple of shots of owls and eagles flying towards the camera which became award winners. I know they were not birds in the wild. So these birds are just pose and shoot. Thats ok. I dont have a really good portrait shot of any raptors.
