IMO, it's a waste of money taking a workshop for street photography. I think there are a few photographers who run workshops for money. But why bother when you can do the same thing for free through TPMG, Toronto Photo Walks, etc? I'm sure you can learn from more people in the groups, with various styles and techniques, rather than learning from just one person.

It depends on what you are looking for in a street workshop. For instance I took one promising the following:

"Dealing with your subjects. The creative process is opened up completely and polished off by the communication you have between your subjects. We will go over our very easy and extremely effective tips and tricks to communication! Who should attend! … photographers who want to polish off their communication skills with subjects."

I'm uncomfortable approaching strangers on the street, even got roughed up once.

Anyway I've since decided that it's not my thing (unless I'm doing candids with a long lens),

I'd be happy to do a walk...... Street photography is all about doing... and by doing, that's how you learn.
