So what are people thinking of bringing? I'm thinking about a fall veggie tart.

OK Mr. Chris Hotwire - you're in. I'm first in line on deck.

You're in. tatanawana would be the Tanya that MustGoFaster mentioned that can't make it. She's a busy person so probably hasn't time to deregister and my quick search with admin didn't see a way to remove her. Sorry.

Alex is next on deck.

Yahoo. I'm thinking of keeping it simple with a soup and high key props. This should be fun.

I'm not sure yet either. I'm thinking a mock up of baking an apple pie... all the ingredients spread around a table, shot from above. So many options!

I have sent a pm to fakegod, neil_1 and JonRosales to confirm their attendance either way. If I don't hear back by Monday then we'll move along to the waiting list and fill in the spots.

Hm so many ideas. I'm going to do a test run on the tart this weekend. Ashley what was the name of that food photography book you had?

I have two... I think this was the one I brought to J_'s event... http://www.amazon.ca/Food-Styling-Photo ... 886&sr=8-7

It's great for the little tricks to use. However, I recently bought http://www.amazon.ca/Plate-Pixel-Digita ... 886&sr=8-2 and feel like it's a better book in terms of how to light the scenes and style them.

I can bring both to this event so you can have a look through.

I could arrange some miscellaneous vegetables.

Would they be preferred with dirt on them or without?

I'll be bringing some mini orange and white pumpkins sans dirt. And I got a bag full of interesting looking baking equipment. Value Village is the best!

Ashley, with 4 "stations" and 10 people, we'll have two 2's and two 3's. Should I bring a card table to squeeze in five stations for an even 2 at each? I'll be using strobes so you can put me in the closet if you like :-)

Thanks for reminding me about the tables and ' stations'. Since we are in a condo party room there are a bunch of tables we can set up, not limited to 4! So once everyone is there we can organize into areas of the room, it's quite big, and go from there. And yes, bring your strobes! We can set up flash on one side of the room and natural light on the other.

Alex and Garo, those last two spots are yours. Remember that tatanawana will not be attending.

I'll be there with gear but will do my best to help/stay out of the way even if a space opens up. I have regular access to the pregnant lady's wisdom which you should all be taking advantage of. If a tenth person wishes to take part they may have my spot, just take the next position on the waiting list and it will be yours.

Hi guys! Looking forward to this! What is the parking situation? I'm debating subway vs car?

Subway is much easier if you aren't hauling gear. There is a loblaws close by which is about a 10 minute walk. It's a pretty big parking lot so I'm assuming your car would be ok. Street parking can be tricky. Unfortunately since it's a very small condo there is 0 visitor parking.

Sounds like fun! I cannot make it for 11am, but how long will you be shooting for? I would love to make it out later.

That Loblaws looks at least 10 football fields away (going by the SMC football field), which would be a nice walk were it not for all the stuff to lug.
How about that TPA lot at 457 Spadina?

Do we just go to the front door? Is there a secret handshake?

Thanks Ashley! That makes the decision a lot easier for me :)

If everyone could please go to the front door and check in with the security desk, please say that you are here for the TPMG event in the party room. They will direct you to the room around the corner, on the first floor.

Thanks for putting that on Ashley. That was a much needed push to get going on some indoor table-top stuff - which will be needed in the middle of Winter. Much appreciated.
And a shout out to all the friendly regulars who helped make the day so enjoyable, including the wine - thanks Christopher.
I'll put my takes up on pbase once I'm done.
