Thanks David for organizing! Great to meet some new faces and see some old faces, espeically those I haven't seen in a while.

Wow photos up already? I got home and went to bed pretty much - photos are still on my camera!!

FYI deep fried twinkie is NOT any special - very disappointed. Luckily I got (hopefully) some decent shots and that will make up for the twinkie!

Oh Dinosaurgirl i'm stealing your photo of me to use as my facebook profile pic!

J.

I'm surprised by all the photos as well. Got to wait 'til tomorrow to bring my film in. Hopefully get them back before the walk on saturday.

After running off near the end I managed to blast through a second roll. If there's a second event, then I'll probably give it another go.

I don't really have anything to show as of yet either .... went to bed as soon as I got home last night, and I want some more video footage before I have something to work with... so there will be a second event next week.

Oh, all the pictures are looking so lovely!
I'm dying to post some, but today my computer decided to misbehave, so I got nothing to show yet :(

Had an absolutely fabulous time with everyone though, gonna try my best to go to the one next week !
Although I didn't get a chance to hang out for long with everybody, I had a lovely time with David and Maureen !

Thanks Lali,

No definitely an impromptu portrait session (which Chirs - Hotwire and Ben also participated in)
Definitely love my new little camera - I still want to properly process some of my favs - but I have a huge backlog of photos to process so need to catch up (and just buying photoshop cs6 - I need to learn that as well lol). This winter I will be busy on the computer!

eeek! Photoshop is such a hassle! Are you upgrading your photoshop, or is this the first time you are venturing? I've had many arguments with my monitor when I was learning how to navigate photoshop-of-horrors. Good luck, if you need any help, let me know!

But on the bright side, at least you'll have a nice excuse to stay indoors when it gets cold and yucky outside.
:)

No this is my first time. Photoshop virgin. I've only ever used elements. I'm sure I'll be needing some help. Going to buy Scott Kelbys book and see how that goes. At least my experience with elements has given me the basics.

If you need any help let me know...I think I have a few tutorials stashed in my computer for photoshop. Actually, I think I have pretty much anything that's worth checking out for beginners as far as tutorials go. Do you want any of it? I can burn a CD or email it to you. Beats buying the books. PM if you are interested.
:)

Oh, I forgot to add, I have Scott Kelby's almost everything on PDF, or video. I really should read/watch it at some point.

I dont know if any of you saw the sand sculptures being made, but here is one. The guy even poked holes through the head to give the skull lifelike piercing eyes from the light behind.

A shot of the kiddies ferris wheel. It was later and the kiddies were gone, but the lights stayed on. Also another sand sculpture.

After checking the bellows after a night out, it seems that the repairs I made would only be temporary, and any problems I'm likely to have are probably user error anyway; like this double exposure:

Image
Double exposure by ofermod, on Flickr

Light leaks turned out to be not so bad... Then again it's a night shoot.
