Details:

What: Road Trip East
When: Saturday October 22nd 2011
Time: 9AM
Where: Harwood & Bayly - Tim Horton's
Bring: Camera gear

Time for another road trip in Durham... and beyond possibly... we'll meet in the morning at the local Tim Horton's here in Ajax - at Harwood and Bayly in the big strip mall on the north west corner. Then head out to some desirable locations.

Hoping that fall colour will be nice up in the Lake Ridge ski hill area - there are a few nice spots to stop up there and do some shooting.

This is sorta how I see it: We will meet for 9am, then head over to Salem. From here we will head north on Salem, all the way to Zion - we can stop at the church if people want. Then we will head east to Balsam road (first left) and north again - there is a farm house along the way that is an interesting quick stop - from here, head north to Glen Major church - stop here, then we will head east along Chalk Lake road - make a quick stop at Hyhope Fam - which is just slightly south on Lake ridge - then back to Chalk Lake road and head north again on county road 7 / Balsam Lake road straight into Uxbridge - we can stop at a number of places in Uxbridge including the historic railroad.

Lunch in Uxbridge at the Hobby Horse pub. Then from here - we can head north again to Udora and the Udora Feedmill. We will then head east towards Lake Ridge again - and from here we can continue east. Some suggestions are Tyrone Mill, and if the group wants we could even go as far east as Cambelcroft to the Fudge Mill. We can decide from here how and where we want to go.

Please post here if you need a ride or can provide a ride. There is a possibility for folks to meet me here and then carpool in my van.

I could also possibly meet folks at the border of Toronto / Pickering if you can get out this way by transit and/or GO Train is a possibility too.

This sounds interesting. I haven't been to an event for a while.

When will we all be heading back to T.O.?

Yup, I can opt out of Maureen's van and take my van.... actually, that would be better for gear, because with 7 ppl in Maureen's van... there ain't much room for the gear.

I should have a firm decision later in the week.

Just so everyone knows -- we'll most likely be back by 4:30-5pm, as I have a birthday dinner to go to for my Dad afterward. I can't be out late.

I see there is also a Niagara Falls area outing on the 22nd as well. So 3 big events on the same day. Something for everyone, but that also means everyone misses two of them.

The site recently changed, all of the events are now in a single area, as previously there was an ad-hoc, and an official meetup area. Now we are one big happy family. I think, anyhow.

Yes, I am planning to take us to Fudge mill, which is an old abandoned feed mill, that is for sale - its right off of the road. I am also planning a stop at Tyrone, and as a group, people are more than welcome to give input as to where we want to go otherwise ... we can do some farms too.

Hi all,

so as stated in the first email, our objective will be to get to Uxbridge by lunch time, and then in the afternoon we are going to head to Tyrone and Cambelcroft if time permits.

We are meeting for 9am at the Timmies at Harwood/Bayly (its just north on Harwood in the strip mall). There have been numerous carpools arranged now.

If anyone is still interested in coming, I have a bit of room in my van - and you can park and leave your car at the strip mall - or if you want - at my condo building. Either will be safe for the day.

David

I'm going to make the attempt to show. I'll still try and bum a seat if available, otherwise I'll have my own wheels regardless.

I'm pretty exhausted right now, napped a few hours after getting home from work, and now I'm semi-lucid again.

I will meet you all in Uxbridge for lunchtime. Saves me from a very loopy drive south and north again. Gives me an extra hour to two of sleep time.
