Predicting Image Memory

Apparently the studium has been quantified. Having only read the abstract I have no idea if this reconciles the idea of punctum within a photograph and how that would, of course, have a massive influence on memory.

Looks like the successful images will go down one of the subjects in the most memorable list

The experiment although interesting in it's attempt is fatally flawed in it's execution.

My question: Is the memorability of an image related to the level of Interestingness? or are these two separate variables/qualities in the mapping process?

So intricate patterns or elaborate composition in photographs lacking of human faces are less interesting?
